Project: Bespoke ebonised handrail for high spec London based residential project
High spec residential developments like this require attention to detail and effective contract management to succeed.
From our digital survey, we were able to advise the client of various design options, show life like renders of the finished handrail and produce drawings to match. The handrail, made up of over 40 bespoke components was manufactured with our specialist CNC equipment, then was fully assembled, installed and ebonised on site by the PTH fitting team; matching the stunning interior of the house.
The pro active and professional approach applied by all members of the team made the project run smoothly and efficiently. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody looking for a bespoke timber handrail.

Project: Wreathing inner handrail through 4 floors
This exciting refurbishment was done to an extremely high specification in Chelsea.
Once again, PTH demonstrates how valuable a digital survey can be when on trying to fit to metal balustrade. The handrail section, designed for Albyns of London, was traditional in shape. We were able to keep the classic aesthetic of the handrail whilst fitting exactly to the metalwork in place, meaning reduced fitting time and a more efficient installation method.
“The handrail went together very easily”
Matthew Parratt, Albyns London
Project: Twin spiral staircases for a luxury country spa resort in rural Essex
We were able to survey the two staircases at a very early stage, allowing us to work alongside the client to achieve tight deadlines, and create two outstanding flights which suit the contemporary feel of the new building.
Each flight comprised of around 8 metres of spiral capping and handrail in American White Oak, and was fitted by our highly skilled installation team.
The client is very happy with the handrail, so many thanks.

Project: Ebonised white Oak handrail for this five star residential home in Wickham.
PTH manufactured this bespoke American white oak handrail for a curving staircase at a residential home in the North East. Working from our survey data, we were able to minimise fitting time on site by producing tailor made parts to fit the metal balustrade.
‘I was very impressed with how you carried out your survey of the staircase to produce the oak handrail to fit our helical staircase with such precision and high quality’.
John Tate, site manager, J W lowry.
Project: A new oak staircase was produced for a private country home near Bath, which required a bespoke spiral handrail onto a landing gallery space.
PKR Joinery built and installed the staircase, and we were able to work closely alongside them to produce a spiralling American oak handrail which wreathed down the flight and into a volute bun - meeting the needs of the client, joiners and the architect.
We were very happy with the service, and the product was of high quality which fitted together perfectly with the PTH fixing system.
Andrew Kingman, PKR Joinery
Project: Elliptical oak handrail and capping designed for the main gallery of Liverpool Hope University's new £5.4m centre of excellence
There was over 100 linear metres of bespoke curved handrail and capping produced to make up the distinctive centre piece of the new centre. We were able to guarantee accuracy by digitally measuring all of the walls, and pre jointing all of the pieces to reduce time spent fitting on site.
The handrail fitted together brilliantly, and looks great.

Project: A new residential development in Virginia Waters, finished throughout to the highest standards. A custom made oak handrail was required to run around the outside of the stair, and wreath onto a small section of landing balustrade.
The contract required total precision. Using our digital surveying equipment, we were able to measure the existing balustrade and the full geometry of the flight. Our dedicated installation team installed and polished the handrail to match the existing handrail, to the delight of the homeowner.
Thank you, excellent job. Please pass on our thanks to your staff.

Project: Premiership Footballer's (Manchester United) new home in Cheshire. Four floor helical custom built concrete and stone stairs with ornate metal balustrade that required a full digital survey, and the manufacture of an Ash handrail to fit a 30mm steel core rail.
32 bespoke continuous sections were made to run smoothly along the length of the core rail. The handrail was fitted and polished by Daniels and Thomas Cabinet Makers of Smallthorne, Stoke-on-Trent.
It was fantastic, it went together brilliantly - It's a credit to you and your team.
